The purpose of the District Plan is to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to the people and property of Summit County from the effects of hazard events. The Disaster Mitigation Act (DMA) of 2000 requires all local governments to assess their risks to natural hazards and identify actions that can be taken in advance to reduce future losses.
