2023 Water Quality Report

We are pleased to present our Buffalo Mountain Metro District Water Quality Reports. Our constant goal is to provide you with a safe and dependable supply of drinking water.  Please contact us any questions about the Drinking Water Consumer Confidence Rule (CCR).

All drinking water, including bottled water, may reasonably be expected to contain at least small amounts of some contaminants. The presence of contaminants does not necessarily indicate that the water poses a health risk. More information about contaminants and potential health effects can be obtained by calling the Environmental Protection Agency's Safe Drinking Water Hotline at (800) 426-4791 or by visiting their website.

The State of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment protects the health of citizens by ensuring that safe drinking water is provided by Colorado's public drinking water systems. The program requires compliance with the Colorado Primary Drinking Water Regulations and implements the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act in Colorado.

Once a year BMMD publishes a copy of the BMMD's Drinking Water Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) to each customer on the website and in the local paper. Reports are based on the previous calendar year monitoring data. The report contains information about the BMMD source water quality and a summary of the State's source water assessment. The report includes a table reporting the levels of detected contaminants with the following:

  • Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL)
  • Maximum Contaminant Level Goal (MCLG)
  • Maximum Residual Level (MRDL)
  • Maximum Residual Level Goal (MRDLG)
  • Action Level (AL) or
  • Treatment Technique (TT)
  • Common sources and the date the sample was taken.

The report also details any violations of the drinking water regulations and a list of any variances or exemptions issued by the State to the system.
