Quarterly Service Fee
2024
Water and sewer services are billed quarterly in the month after the end of each calendar quarter. In addition to the quarterly charges, the district will add a 1% percent late fee as well as any additional incurred costs associated with customers' accounts.
Wildernest combined quarterly rate is $201.74
- The sewer rate is $116.70
- The water rate is $85.05 plus usage
- $2.38 per 1000 gallons up to 15,000 gallons
- After 15,000 gallons it is $12.60 per 1000 gallons
- Construction water is billed at $30.00 for two quarters (six months) only.
Cortina Ridge combined quarterly rate is $302.61
- The sewer rate is $175.05
- The water rate is $127.57 plus usage
- $3.57 per 1000 gallons up to 15,000 gallons
- After 15,000 gallons it is $18.90 per 1000 gallons
- Construction water is billed at $45.00 for two quarters (six months) only.
The district may consider a 50% credit on excess water fees once every three (3) years for customers. The credit will only be applied to usage charges and will not include base rate fees.

Unauthorized Connection Penalties
An unauthorized connection penalty equal to twice the applicable systems development fee will be payable by persons connecting to the district’s water or sewer lines without prior approval. For approval, apply here.
Turn-Off and Turn-On Fee
If services are discontinued at the request of the customer, or due to delinquency, a $75.00 turn-off fee will be charged. If the curb box or shut-off valve is not working, repair will be at the expense of the customer. In addition, a $75.00 turn-on fee will be charged.
Water Meters
The cost of each meter will be the actual cost paid by the district, plus ten percent (10%) to cover the cost of transportation, storage, etc.
Service Through Public and Private Hydrants
No hydrant, whether public or private, will be turned on without prior district permission and will require a deposit of a $1,500.00. Service will be metered. To receive a permit and pay the deposit, please contact the district.
Protective Covenant Enforcements
Failure to correct a violation after a courtesy notice will result in a second notice of violation and include a fine of $50.00. Continued failure to correct the violation will result in additional fines of $100.00 for every subsequent 10-day period until corrected. Fines will be reflected on the next quarterly bill. Architectural Review Committee Fee
Along with the completed application, the owner proposing a new construction project or major remodel on any lot in Wildernest will need to pay an architectural review fee of $500.00 for a project up to three units plus $50.00 for each unit over three in any one project. 4% Sales Tax
On November 2nd, 2020, voters in Buffalo Mountain Metropolitan District (BMMD) approved to implement a new 4% sales tax in Wildernest for the purpose of road maintenance, road safety and transportation. This new sales tax will be applicable to all Colorado State Department of Revenue taxable sales items including short-term-rentals and products delivered into Wildernest.
